Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you have to understand how the security works, and find a way to make the security think you aren't doing anything to the game, but you are. To do so, find out what language the security is coded in and learn what kind of flaws/holes it has.

Reverse Engineering + OllyDBG, you might have to unpack the client also ^^
