I prefer manual, no real reason though.. We have two cars, one auto & one manual. I would say I prefer manual cause of the great possibility of accelerating like fuck on second gear or something & get pure beast enginery, but that isn't really true either as the auto shifts down one gear when you hit the paddle hard & accelerate up. It's complicated, yea, but ah.
i agree fully manual all the way its just more fun

You pay for convenience, and in this case you pay by having less control over your car.

But I must admit, I would much rather drive an auto than a manual.

You don't have to do either of them.. Keeping your foot on the clutch is something you aren't supposed to do.
you have to do it to shift gears

Woah! About a second on the clutch. Do you have a club foot or something?
yeah but you still have to use it

Manuals are very tiresome to drive, specially if the traffic is slow as hell.

Yeah, risking breaking a very expensive part feels so good! Specially if you shift while jumping over a canyon, not knowing if you're gonna make it, right?

Manual because it makes me feel faster for some reason, and it's more fun.

Or perhaps a better question, why do people even buy automatics? Other than out of sheer laziness...

Manuals perform far better, get better gas mileage, give you far more control over the car, are more fun to drive, are cheaper, more reliable if driven correctly.

I had to drive an automatic for a month and absolutely hated it.

Why would anyone buy an automatic, other than laziness?

That is the exact reason why people buy it.
But there are also insurance factors.

For example, Insurance is higher for cars with Manual Transmission compared to cars with Anutomatic transmission.

My insurance jumped a good $200 when I switched to a 2009 Honda Civic to my own 2009 Honda Civic Si.

That's weird, considering manuals are cheaper to fix and give you better control. Hm. I remember my first car, a buick regal, automatic of course, and I did not feel in control of that car at all, yet the insurance was nothing. Then I got a celica, and it handles so much better, I definitely have a much smaller chance of crashing it, yet the insurance is so much more. Just for liability on the celica is $20 more a month than full coverage was on the buick.

I can't even imagine what my insurance is going to be on my new car, I've narrowed it down to two and both are 6-speed, AWD, and turbocharged. Fuck.

automatic cars take one thing off your mind when you are driving (dont have to switch gears) and yes they both do have advantages and disadvantanges

When you learn to drive you should start off with a manual. Because moving from automatic to manual is a very bad mistake.

I disagree, I've become a much more alert driver since I started driving a manual. In an automatic I tend to zone out and not pay attention as much to what's going on around me, in a manual you're having to do more work so you're forced to pay attention.

I think it's best to start out in an automatic. I remember the first time I tried driving, and it was a nightmare even in an automatic. Then learning to drive a manual was like learning to drive all over again. I can't imagine what it'd be like starting out with a manual...

Lol.

If you start with manual, you'll burn like 4 clutches before you can actually drive decently.
