i shot some video with my camera and i imported it to my computer.
i opened it on my computer and it played as an audio file. i put it in windows movie maker and it was a audio file....
i NEED to recover it!!
if i cant then tell me a way to makei tn ot hapen again

Download and Install VLC Player.
Then right click the video file and open with VLC.
If the video does play, then it's just a codec problem.
To open it with Media Player and Movie Maker and to play video aswell.
Intall K Lite Mega Codec Pack
And it might fix the problem.

Intall K Lite Mega Codec Pack
After the installation, restart your PC, and then go to Movie Maker and see i fit works... Many other people have this problem including me on my old Vista computer... I tried the K Lite codec pack but it didn't work...
Also if you are running Windows Vista.
Windows Update to Vista Service Pack 2, and install all other updates.
Then if it still doesn't work then try install this.

What do you mean it is converting?
Yes that is a solution. Convert the nonworking format to a working format and use it in movie maker but it's very annoying having to convert video's every time.
