No, it needs improvement, sure, but it's actually pretty good.
Although, personally, I'd use a different person for the main part.... Perhaps the FF character you're using as an avatar now.

The character just needs a bit more texture. Try blending him slightly with the background. Should solve any problems people are having with it. You might want to do the same with the text as well. Nicely framed though.
