Is it necessary? I've never really came across anything like this besides in movies. Do you have to meet your girlfriends parents?

I would like my daughter to tell me who she is planing to spend her life with. And out of respect, i introduced myself to my gf's parents, on my own.

New generations don't care about formalities anymore since most kids nowadays only think that relationships are just for sex because that's what most media sources are spamming us with. But if you managed to salvage any thread of decency, you would do the right thing and introduce yourself.

my girlfriend made me meet her parents, so they can "approve" it wasnt that bad, we just talked about stuff
