What's yours?

Mine is the freaking Trojan.Virut. (reader_s.exe)
It makes a copy of itself on C: Windows, and Documents.
When you delete the VRR.tmp located in Temp, Dc18 and other virus will hide in the recycle bin.

So here's the story...
I got the Virut on this PC.
I said to myself, "Ok, no prob. Reformat will be the best."
After I reformatted, I decided to run MS, since I was bored. (Backed it up in DSmile
But, I never realized that D: is infected as well!
I checked Taskmanager, and hell, I saw the fucking reader_s again!
No choice, reformatted the 2 partitions.

Intervalhehehe virus. It's not even that it breaks your computer, it drives you insane for a week or 2 with fantastically annoying messages, and THEN breaks your computer (you can google intervalhehehe, it's famous). I had to back up my microsoft office files, and wipe my hard drive. I believe that the infected file was a fake winrar.

Hmm

My friend said he had one that binded itself to all his .exes.

So even after he removed it, he ran like AIM and it gave him the virus again.

Heck if I know, I tend to delete them on the spot instead of looking up their names.

My brother got this one on his computer, I found it hilarious.

I haven't had one on mine for a long time though.

Haven't got Virus/Malware. Probably one in a few months or half a year... Or maybe a year. But the last time I had one on my computer, many of my system32 files were infected with them, and my Windows Live Messenger kept on spamming all my online friends with the virus link that resulted in my computer lagging.

Fortunately, after doing a full system scan with my anti-virus software, my PC is back to maximum health.

Best one was the one that acted like a rar archive and then stored a DLL into system32 and added itself to the registry so it injected itself into every exe and made everything unable to connect. After some days it made my exe's unable to open (I got this Open With: screen) and that was when I reformatted and reinstalled Windows.

People don't care about LINUX, and so do virusmakers. That's why your system is virusfree.

That was really stupid. Infect an UNIX-based OS without the knowledge of the user. No, wait, you can't. The user has to execute the infected file himself. Too bad for virusmakers Sad
This applies to windows too. Stupid user = any OS destroyed. No, wait, you CAN infect windows even if it is idle. Too bad again Sad

Anyways, it wasn't on my PC, but it was rootkit, that was infected all windows system executables, and was not allowing any antivirus software to run. However, gmer rulz in those situations, i had to delete all .exe's and restore the original ones, then manually regedit some stuff until i killed that shit. It took me a whole day, but saved that poor installation. And after 2 days the guy deleted some system files and reinstalled >.>

There are virut removers...
And that virut is bad. It patches all .exe's and .scr's and when you delete the virut, it deletes all the files it patched.

Worst I ever had was a downloader. I must have had Conficker.B, rogue anti virus (forgot which one), some random virus without a name, and that annoying explorer.exe terminator. It was before my "new" computer was built, I use that term loosely.
