That's right. Last night a moth. Flew into my ear canal.
I shit you not.
I heard a whirring of wings by my ear so i went to swat it, then there was silence. Figured it had gone, but oh no! Suddenly a massive whirring sound. I jumped up and yelled "what the fuck was that". Turned out, the bastard had actually gone into my ear canal. We (Rob and I) shone the light from a torch down it and he could see the tips of some wings. We poured olive oil into my ear to kill it (30 minutes of whirring was getting annoying and painful), and hopefully draw it out (rise to the surface).
No such luck.
So I went to Casualty. Waited for two-fucking-hours to be seen, then when I was seen. She saw the bug, tried to get it with tweezers and said it was "too far in". That I would have to go all the way up to Southampton general hospital to the F5 ward, as they has specialist treatment.
So, I caught a train from Brockenhurst to Southampton, walked the forty-four minute walk to the hospital (after realizing I had no change for the bus, I was ten pence short and the dude didn't let me off) and waited for a further two hours before being seen. Then finally it got removed, after managing to block the first utensil they used.
It was a one cm moth. Deep in my fucking ear canal.
