It'll work but it'll also have a chance of getting me banned.

D2 Loader connects you through a proxy and is designed for botting.

apparently 1.12 will let you play CD-less if you copy MPQs.

Yeah, they did that with all their games.

Copy the INSTALL.EXE from the CD and rename it to -----------.mpq. Should be in the patchnotes on the blizzard support site.
