|
|
I installed Winter Fun Pack on my computer before I remembered what happened when I did that on my old computer.
No tl;dr's here.
I was able to delete every file it involved, except for one folder. This one folder comes up every 5 seconds it feels like after you delete it, and it only first appeared when I got the Fun Pack.
The folder is called
038A524F58DB438A83918F7F0CA14B9E.TMP
and it includes the files of
WiseCustomCalla.dll
and
WiseCustomCalla1.exe
.
That apparently came with the Fun Pack, and it won't delete permanently. Winter Fun Pack remains on my program list, and when I tell it to uninstall, I soon get the error of "Error 1713. Microsoft(r) Winter Fun Pack 2004 for Windows(r) XP cannot install one of its required products. Contact your technical support group."
I'm running Vista 64-bit, and Unlocker doesn't work on 64-bit, and it isn't what I need right now anyway. Anyone know what I can do?
EDIT: For the record, it hadn't come with an "official" uninstall file application.

Wasn't Winter Fun Pack only used for XP and it will cause problems with Vista?
Why don't you try system restore and go back a day or two before you install that junk.

I tried going back to before I installed it. It didn't work. If I go back any further, I'd lose my installations and saved games from Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault-Spearhead, and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault-Breakthrough. Anybody got some other ideas?
Ugh never mind. I did System Restore to some time yesterday before my futile attempt to install Medal of Honor: Airborne. The program is gone, but so are my other Medal of Honor games
Oh well. At least the "Fun Pack" is gone.

So it looks like you installed all these game including Winter Fun Pack in one shot? Nice...
Since Winter Fun Pack is a MS program it should automatically create its own restore point.
Undo your current restore, go back and look at the list.
Then see if there is one with your game and the fun pack.
Select the game installed right before the fun pack and restore.
