Theoretically, if you were in a vacuum and a very huge distance of vertical area affected by gravity, eventually, wouldn't you go faster than the speed of light?

depends on the climbing rate of the vaccum, how far you are from the center of the gravitational pull, and the clothes your wearing due to the aerodynamics

what do aerodynamics matter in a vacuum lol

I don't think, you would have enough space to test that

and when you have that much space, how would you make sure there's 100% nothing in it

edit: your own gravity would pull you to the walls and kill you (or destroy whatever is falling)

you'll probably disintegrate due to the fact that your moving soo fast

THERE IS NO LIGHT IN A VACUUM.
as far as we know at least.

Wow, I like it how scientist's.
Always ramble on bout stuff they can't ever really explain.
Only say what's probable, and give it a name.
Example:
"John Wheeler:(Look's into high-powerd teloscope)Holy S#!t
"Stephen Hawking:(Type's on keyboard)What?
"John Wheeler:I found this black thing. Come take a look?
"Stephen Hawking:Ok.(Look's into scope) Doe's not compute.
"John Wheeler:I think it's the existence of bodies with gravitational fields strong enough to allow nothing to escape.
"Stephen Hawking:Lawl, your crazy. But, people believe anything, so let's say on the other side is a other universe/ worm hole/ space vacuum.
"John Wheeler:Ha ha, people are so stupid. Let's make up a bunch of theory's and call it a black hole.

3*10^8 m/s is the speed of light

aceleration of earth's gravity is 10m/s^2 ((aprox ))

what means that every second the speed will be increased by 10m/s
so to reach speed of light you will need an aprox of 11.574 months in free fall to get 3*10^8 m/s of speed.

so almost 1 year of free falling.
to be able to reach speed of light with that theory you would need a height capable to hold you all that year in free fall which should be bigger than the radius of earth and so impossible since gravity will start acting from every direction when you reach the center of the earth not letting you move of there.
obviously impossible ;3

but now science knows that there are particles that moves faster than light itself.

and talking about being in a space vacuum is the same thing, it would need to be longer than the space you will need to accelerate with it's acceleration.

no, cause of terminal velocity. gravity on earth is like 9.8 meters/s something like that.

yup.

yup.

there is no terminal velocity with a constant Acceleration.

Okay guys you are misinterpreting my question.
I mean in a THEORETICAL situation where all the necessities are met.
Where you won't burn up into a crisp and there IS enough room. =|

theoretical doesnt mean with no rules but since this is "THEORETICAL" and haves no rules then yes you can reach and get faster than speed of light with enough room in a space vacuum.

you would burn or die because of speed in a vacuum, it's all because of the air

but still, when you would have enough space, how would you have that big space be affected by gravity? the range is limited and for higher gravity you need more mass

Well if that would be possible, i guess you could get beyond speed of light (unless you begin traveling throught time instead)

btw, he said strong gravity not gravity of earth
and g = 9.79m/sē - 9.83m/sē
depending on where you are on earth (highest on equator)

so still its 10 m/s^2 aprox
aprox = aproximated => rounded => rounded to integer => first decimal over 5 => +1 and delete decimals == 10
