if people haven't realised yet, the jailbreak for the iPod/iPhone 3.0 firmware was released recently.
here's a mirror to the new redsn0w. first update your device to the 3.0 firmware, and then drag your ipsw file onto the redsn0w application. hopefully the application prompts you to put your device into DFU mode, and then follow the prompts. it can't really get much simpler.

Oh great!
Cheers, I hadn't checked in a few weeks, I didn't know there were any updates past those russians modifying quickpwn for 3.0.
Might upgrade sooner or later.
Only problem is some cydia apps won't work anymore, because it's different software.
(Like modifying ipt 1st gen apps to adapt them to the 24k exploit).

you either upgrade your iPod legally, and buy the update, and get the ipsw from the application data folder, or google a way to get it for free. if you get it for free, hold shift and click restore in itunes and find your ipsw.

| I had some problems but finally got the 3.0 firmware jailbreak to work. Honestly I see no difference except for the search feature and voice recorder (but you need a mic for ipod touch)

On the ipod touch it gives loads more features.
Even bluetooth, because the chip was always in there, they were just too lazy to activate it.
