Okay, price is a factor in this... Just not a huge one.

After not looking at hardware parts for months... It has become hard to pick out a new motherboard.

I'd just like to hear your inputs on a motherboard:

*with a healthy (or 100 percent) amount of solid state capacitors.
*LGA 755 (for my Q6600)
*ONLY 1 PCI-E x16

Umm... That's about it! Newegg is fine. Tigerdirect is fine too.

Too bad it doesn't have solid caps and the 2 16x PCI-E slots operate at 8x in SLI / Crossfire.

The Asus Rampage Extreme

Not only do you get a healthy dose of 100% solid caps, you also get a few of the Fujitsu massive "bling" solid caps as well.

Intel X48 chipset, supports CrossFire at full x16 mode (x16,x16).

Requires DDR3, for DDR2...

Look at Asus P5E Deluxe or Rampage Formula

He has to have it be able to use:

*with a healthy (or 100 percent) amount of solid state capacitors.
*LGA 755 (for my Q6600)
*2x PCI-E x16
*6GB DDR2 800mhz

Please read the first post :<

The board I've mentioned have all the requirements he wants plus a few extra stuffs. I've also mentioned it uses DDR3 and if he wants a board that runs on DDR2 to look at the P5E Deluxe or Rampage Formula.

It's you who need to carefully look at the first post and do you know the difference between a solid cap and regular caps?

Btw, he never mentioned anything about 6GB DDR2 800MHz.

thanks kls, i like some of those Very Happy A little expensive but worth it for the money!

and yes, i did tell him about the 6GB of DDR2 RAM.

Also, i changed it to only 1 PCI-E x16, hopefully to broaden my range. I don't think ill SLI.

Seconded, however the first Asus one is pretty dated at this point.

If you only want 1 PCI-E slot, just get the UD3R.
