My friends bday tomorrow and we are going to see the new transformers movie...but it is also father's day tomorrow....Which one should i goto?

If your dad won't kill you for not being home, I say don't let your friend down. If you must be home tommorrow, you could just rescedule something with your friend.

Hang out with your dad during the day. I'm sure your mom will be giving him his present later. Which gives you time to hang with your friend.

I remember missing my best friend's birthday party for my dad's birthday (Leap Year FTW!) last year.

It was worth it. I'd totally hang out with my dad. Besides, you could always watch the new transformers movie tomorrow as well. Father's day only comes once a year.

I dont know the original meaning of birthdays but think of it this way
Long time ago, giving birth was very, very dangerous, and alot of people died this way, died giving birth. The mothers had to endure intense pain. With NO drugs or anything modern to aid them.

So I think birthdays are to celebrate that giving birth to you was a success. (And possibly your mother didn't die). As ^-^ said, fathers day was to honor your father, to raise you up to this stage, every year. Every day he goes to work (for most people) just to put food on your table (prob your mother does that too). To celebrate what you have compared to having without.

Friends last longer than parents. Parents are more important than friends. Friends die, you make new ones, parents die, you cant make new ones (unless your other parent remarries, thats a different story). Think of those with one parent, or even without. They WANT to celebrate father/mothers day, but they cant. They have friends but to them, they know whats more important.

Fathers day > Friends birthday

If your friend doesn't understand, he/she isn't a friend. Your friend should be celebrating father's day anyway.

God damn, you can do something with your father till 3pm from 9am or w/e and then spend the rest of the hours with your friends. 4pm to 9pm. Geez, whats up with these threads.
