| I rely on the plugins for a lot of my daily online activities, so Firefox is a clear choice for me.

might try it. i dunno i have a pretty fast computer but firefox still always took like a second to open as opposed to others like chrome which open instantly. even IE opened faster than firefox, but maybe they've improved since then
i really don't get why everyone loves firefox i could never see much advantage over using other browsers. admittedly there aren't random crashes + freezes like chrome does sometimes but the open time pisses me off. as does the fact that somehow when i open 1 pdf in it it suddenly consumes like 100MB extra memory

"A second to open?" While, I don't know if that's true for me, I don't think I would mind. I'm not that impatient.
I love Firefox for it's wide variety of addons, and how I already customized it to fit all my needs. Switching browsers would be a real pain even if the browser I switch to was "faster."

Firefox used to take around 5 seconds to open for me, I switched to opera and realised how crap it was compared. I'd rather wait 5 seconds.
I'm using Firefox 3.5 beta 4 currently, and it opens very fast, even my stability problems have been fixed.

Lets not turn this into a browser wars thread. I find that all browsers are for different types of people.
Regardless of that, I think ill try it when it comes out as an official release instead of a beta or preview.

you'll be amazed at how fast the preview is.

yeah doesn't seem to matter what computer i'm on. on my slower computers in the past.. like 2.xghz 2gb ram it takes like 3-5 seconds to open. most recently the computers i have are 3.xghz multiple core + 4gb+ and it still takes 1 second. it's not an isolated issue since i was forced to use firefox for like a year so i got a good taste for it lol
