Is it necessary to update your bios?
Because I recently just reformatted my computer and was wondering should I update my bios? I think the last update it had was last year of October.
It's an Asus P6T Deluxe mobo.

If you're not experiencing any problems there's no reason to upgrade your BIOS.
It's totally unnecessary unless your PC is having problems and a BIOS flash will fix those bugs.

Flashing the BIOS is basically upgrading the BIOS.
When I said upgrade, I meant to refer to flash.

No, lol. What I was trying to point out is that it's not necessary to flash/upgrade your BIOS unless your experiencing problems/bugs with your PC that would be related to your BIOS.

How would I know I'm experiencing problems/bug with my bios and not other hardwares?

God, no.

Never ever update your BIOS unless you reeeeeallly need to for some reason. Not worth the risk of turning your mobo into a paperweight because the planets aligned and something stupid happened.

Most modern mobo's have a spare BIOS which will be flashed if you somehow hose the original, but it's still not something to fuck with if you don't need to. If it works, just leave it.

I looked at the BIOS updates and it actually has some general fixes with it, so it would be useful to him.

But if the man wants to have an updated BIOS, let him.

then if you extract it directly to C: then:

*Windowskey+R
*cmd
*cd c:\ (enter)
*AFU236U.exe afudos /i P6T-ASUS-DELUXE-1606.rom
*(Not sure which one works) AFU236U.exe /i P6T-ASUS-DELUXE-1606.rom
* DO NO TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER, OR CLICK the mouse or anything let it sit)

____

Its what i think your suppose to do, as I have only updated my BIOS once and it was like a year ago.

At least flashing mobo bios' isn't nearly as painful as flashing router bios'. I've accumulated about 3 $50 paperweights thanks to that.
