I spill mine, not really a secret just helpful for me, it allows somewhat hard equations to be done in ur head
example: 8 x 16 = ?
8 x 10 u can easily figure is 80 in ur head
8 x 6 is easy 48
than add the 2 numbers to get 128

We start of with taking 2 variables, A and B. And A = B, B != 0.
 |
So, are we supposed to disprove the "secrets" if we know how? If so, then you can't divide by (B-A) since A=B, and (A-B)=0.

Here's a good one: Zero divide by Zero = any number.
0 divided by 0 equals a number. Since at the moment we don't know what it is, we'll assign it with the letter x. Because 0 divided by 0 equals x, that means that x times zero must equal zero. However, ANYTHING times zero is zero. So 0 divided by zero, is ANYTHING.
Weird, huh?
It's supposedly given mathematitions grief for hundreds of years.

Ah, like my math professor used to question, which square root does i represent?

Another good math paradox: Any square root problem has 2 perfectly valid answers.
Let's just take the square root of 9 (That number doesn't mean anything, this works with any number)
The problem you have to figure out is what number multiplys by itself to get 9. 3, right? (3 times 3 is 9)
The problem is, if you multiply a negative by a negative, the negatives cancel out and you get the same answer as you would if you took both negative signs out. Negative 3 multiplied by negative three is ALSO 9. This gets confusing, because on math tests in the past, I've been marked off for both giving and not giving the negative alternitive.

I already knew that, which was why newfags can't grasp the fact that the square root of -1 is not fucking -1 or 1.

| There really is no answer to a square root of a negative number, because in order to achieve a negative result to a multiplacation problem, the signs can't be the same. Correct?

If you only use real numbers then yes, but with imaginary/complex numbers the square root of a negative number can be expressed.

Pretty much. The square root of -25 is 5i. i represents the square root of negative one so obviously, 5i*5i = 25i^2 = 25(-1) = -25.

That would be under some really crazy caculus stuff though. To the average geeky guy who just finished algebra 2 and is going into 8th grade, there's no answer to the square root of -1. :P

Lol, stole what I was going to say. But yes, 2 most definitely doesn't equal one because B-A and A-B = 0. You can't divide by 0...so yeah.

Complex numbers are imaginary numbers. Once again, Algebra 2.
