| Seeding torrents? I've seen a laptop being stayin' on for like days then it just shut down automaticlly. Yep, overheat. You need a perfect cooler to keep it on 24/7 without any overheats but it will kill your electric bill.

Shouldn't be any problem as long as you have an OK cooling system.
Only problem is what the others pointed out too -> The bills D:

| Mine has been up and running for like a year now. I have only restarted the computer and turned the power off during storms/burn out.

I have no idea what you are talking about, processors come with a hsf for a reason.. to cool the CPU. Whether it's the stock fan or it's an aftermarket cooling solution, it should cool the processor enough for it to not overheat no matter how long it's on for.
Anyways, Sketch, there's nothing to worry about. As other stated, it will affect your electricity bill. Your PC might get hot after a while, however it's not going to overheat, unless your fans aren't working correctly / or they're just spinning too slow which is most likely not the case because most BIOS make the fan RPMs rise as the CPU gets hotter.

| it was in the old days where it was generally advised to turn off your computer overnight but now with new technology (better computers and cooling that is), its perfectly fine to leave your pc on all night, although you might want to put it in hibernation mode or put it to sleep if its going to stay on overnight.

I don't think it'll harm your pc, but when I leave my pc on for like 10 hours I do think it gets a lil slower.

Whenever I keep my XP on for a longer period it seems to slow, but it only needs to be warmed up to run fast again.

Are you sure the stock fan is an aftermarket fan? I always thought stock fan came STOCK with the heatsink/CPU (which mine did)... and the aftermarket fan is what you buy separate from your CPU.

Maybe that post wasn't clear
Meant to say that whether he has an aftermarket cooling solution or he's using the stock fan, it should cool the processor enough for it to overheat no matter how long it's on for.
