Just to add my opinion to the mix... I've been a hobbyist 3d animator/compositor for 8 years, studied with a certified 3ds max instructor at college, been a total 3d animation fanboy and watched everything I could get my eyes on, and over time I've developed a pretty good eye for picking out 3d work. That being said, my eye tells me this is fake, and I know there are a lot of disputable matters like how much the car would have reacted to the impact and how damaged it would have been, but there's some notable things that jump out to me as the way I would have done this--and I'm convinced I could have done this myself. So, my reasons:

1.) the deer's "flight"--I have had my share of fun playing with ragdoll physics simulations in 3ds max, and I can tell you this looks just like every one that I've ever seen or made. The deer's limbs extend pretty much completely straight immediately at the moment of impact, and it goes spinning off at an extremely high velocity and rotation rate. The distance it flies into the air, I believe, is both a failure of the artist to tweak the simulation to look real (a lot of video games have the same problem--ragdolls that fly too far), and a way of getting it offscreen with expedience so you can't look at it too long. The longer you look at an effect, the easier it is to tell it's fake. One more thing--the deer, in 2 frames of footage, goes from running like normal to being upside-down (legs in the air)--that's an extremely fast tumble on that axis of rotation, and you would think that the deer would continue to rotate in that direction, but it doesn't. After that 2 frames, it just goes spinning end-over-end on it's long axis and doesn't seem to inherit the momentum from that initial rotation. This convinces me that the artist created the running deer and the spinning deer as two separate animations, and then threw them together during compositing (or at least they were two separate models in the 3d program that trade off during those 2 frames)--there may have been technical issues in using the same character rig for keyframe animation and ragdoll physics, as ragdoll is often done with simple skeletons and keyframe animation is often done with a system like 3ds max's biped that makes it easier to keyframe-animated, but is very difficult or impossible to use with physics simulations. This convinces me that the running deer may have been a school assignment to make a looping run cycle animation, and the physics sim was the only animation created specifically for this project--that explains the difference in quality, as the deer being hit could have been keyframe-animated much more realistically, but would have taken a substantial amount of time compared to just running a physics simulation, which can often be more of a fun thing to do when you're bored, and fits the tone of this project completely--something not to work hard on making look perfect, but to just say "ROFL--that's hilarious! let's put it online and fool some people into thinking it's real! Toss me another beer!"

2.) the camera--someone mentioned that the camera followed the deer--that's extremely easy to fake when compositing the 3d with the footage, especially since the artist was probably working with SD-resolution footage (functionally 640 x 480 pixels) and the end product being 480 x 360 pixels... all he/she had to do was zoom in on the original footage a little to give him/her enough leeway to add in a fake camera move in that direction--and notice that the camera doesn't go off into the trees, tracking the deer as the cameraman might have in real life, but just scoots over enough (and a bit jerkily, not quite matching the rest of the camera motion) to convince us the cameraman was diligently staying on the car, having just tracked a bit in reaction to the motion--it is more likely that a real cameraman would have either not followed the deer at all, or would have followed substantially later (delayed reaction)--as it is, it's like the cameraman knew it was going to happen because he/she reacted to follow the deer so quickly. I have some experience filming with video cameras on a tripod (and this was clearly not hand-held), and if you're focused and getting ready to pan with the car, there's no way you'd react that fast to an unexpected subject entering the frame from the opposite direction, requiring you to pan the camera the direction you weren't planning on going. Also, from a compositing standpoint, when the deer is running, the camera is just doing a slow zoom, and if the camera jerk (which would be harder to accurately composite the 3d on top of) was added later, this would make the compositing job pretty simple--there are only 6 or 7 frames where the deer is partially obscured by trees when it's emerging from the woods, and not any visible occlusion at all when it's flying out of the frame. 7 frames of masking some trees for a low-quality web video would only take me a few minutes, so the argument that the deer looks like it's coming out of the woods is also not any proof that it's real either--that's real easy to fake.

So there are my reasons. I'm fully convinced it's fake, and I hope this clears up the details of how it could have been done for all of you. I apologize for any industry terms I used that you may not be familiar with--I was just writing this quickly to get my thoughts out.
