|
|
Well, I mainly use my computer to surf the internet. Lately, I've been doing some research as to which browser is the fastest for loading web pages, and I'm still confused.
Many sites say Opera 10, Apple says Safari 4 is the fastest browser yet (which I have trouble believing), most of what I've researched says Google Chrome, some say firefox though I've used it and it becomes pretty slow after a while.
So, some questions:
1. What browser do you use?
2. What browser is your favorite? Why?
3. What browser do you think is fastest?
For me,
1. Google Chrome
2. Google Chrome because it's apparently the fastest
3. From what I've heard online, google chrome. It's starting to slow down though, and I have no idea why. _________________

1) Firefox.
2)Firefox with simple addons for long-term browser open for more than 30 minutes. Its more stable.
3)Google Chrome for quick browsing. _________________

As the longer you use it and open it gets stable (5 mins). _________________

1. Minefield (3.6a1pre)
2. Firefox/Minefield due to its extreme expandability, decent enough 'speed' (JS, CSS rendering), open-source. This is what I mean.
3. Safari 4 if you're on the Mac (reports say it runs ~500MB on Windows after JS rendering test, although they failed to talk about performance afterwards), Chrome on Windows _________________

Chrome uses Webkit, aka the engine behind Safari |

I'll agree with most of the other posters. For a speedy, lightweight browser if you just want to look something up real quick, Chrome is great. For long-term use, I can't really stand being away from Firefox for very long. Can't really say why. Just seems a bit more robust. _________________

1. What browser do you use? Opera 10 Alpha
2. What browser is your favorite? Why? Opera 10 Alpha, it has everything built in. (Torrent downloader/IRC etc)
3. What browser do you think is fastest? I don't really know, but imo, opera. _________________

1. I use FireFox
2. Firefox because I find it fast, and has plenty of addons.
3. I haven't really compared in a while, so I just keep using FF... _________________

| I use Firefox and it's my favorite because of its addons, security, speed and stability. I think Firefox is the fastest in my opinion because I didn't find Google Chrome, Safari or Opera faster. I vote Firefox for the best browser. |

1. Firefox AND Google Chrome.
- When I browse CEF, I use Firefox and at the same time, I browse other stuff with Google Chrome.
2. A tie between Firefox and Google Chrome.
- Google Chrome, loads pages faster than Firefox.
- Firefox, add-ons and customization.
3. Probably Google Chrome atm, simple and clean. |

I prefer Chrome, its very fast, and light. I like that the tabs is in the top boarder, which leaves more space for the actual browser, which i need at my 1600x900 res screen. (I've got hidden bookmarks aswell)
But Google Chrome crashes quiet often, so for long lasting online work, i use Firefox (on my Windows 7 i use IE8). Though the amount of crashes has been heavely reduced since the release of v2.0 |

1. Firefox
2. Firefox
3. Firefox
Opera loads slower than firefox and because you can't make it bypass ipv6, it takes about a minute to navigate to a different webpage. |
