Theres a lack of fire types in pokemon. I want to train a Flareon but i'm confused about something. Do pokemon that evolve with a stone learn moves as they level?

Yes.
For example, after evolving Eevee into Flareon, the now Flareon learns fire moves such as Fire Spin and Flamethrower. You can also use Fire Tm's on it.
Edit: I thought it was...
Sloth, I would suggest Magmar, Ninetails or spamine.

43-Fire fang
50-Last resort
57-smog
64-scary face
71-blast

i don't like any of the legendaries(except Mewtwo) in the 1st generation >_>
i might use articuno since it's like the only ice pokemon and it will come in handy against the last elite four and the champion because they use dragons.
right now i got a kickass snorlax, blastoise, a really good pidgeot, and a dragonite. I'm looking for a fire and maybe an ice. Moltres is too bleh...

IMO Ice is way better than fire. Pidgeot is like my favorite flying type.
Articuno and Zapdos FTW.
Also, get 1 or 2 Electric types. They're good.
