according to an article, members who vilted their install will need to do a in place upgrade before updating to sp2.
Vlite took out files that's essential for the installation of sp2, now before some idiot start bashing MS, it's not their fault that some dufus came in and presented themselves with a tool that will lead to major consequences.

I recommend waiting until the final version, I installed SP2 this morning and suddenly my computer was being psychotic. Lagged like there was no tomorrow. Ended up just reformatting .
But yeah, looking forward to it if they manage to beat out the remaining glitches.

This is the final version of SP2 for Vista and Server 2008. Not sure what you did to your machine, but installed on all my Vista systems (32 and 64bit) and they all work great.
There will be another one which support other languages, but it's no different than the one right now.

A lot of stuff is going to be previous updates and bugfixes, maybe some tweaks. You could read the release notes, but most of the time (assuming Microsoft did it right the first time ) a lot of changes are going to be under the hood.
Thanks for the heads up.

| Hopefully SP2 will fix their MCSS service which is causing a decrease in network transfer rate while a audio file is being played.

I didn't notice anything new either...
Except for my Windows 7 Theme not working anymore because I got to get SP2 patched files...

There are more than 700 hotfixes in Vista SP2.
Some of the fixes are mostly stop errors or (BSODs), networking issues, to weird behavior like WMP cannot play wma files if it contains multiple streams, and system may crash if you try to burn to a double layer disc.
