Is there anyway you can redeem an iTunes gift card for cash? I got a $25 iTunes gift card, but I don't use iTunes and I get all my music from torrents anyway. And if I can't get cash for it, if I do buy music from iTunes, I would be able to play those mp3s on devices besides iPods and programs besides iTunes?

You would be able to take it out after you put it on your iPod?
Just use an alternate program like SharePod or something. I'm not sure if SharePod can do that, but I can reveal hidden files with my iPod Video and inside are the folders that contain your music, but it's track name'll be different.

Ok. Well, if I installed iTunes and bought some songs, would I be able to play those songs on other devices besides iPods and other programs besides iTunes?

| no, you can't use the music on other devices. The music you buy is in a weird audio format like m4a or something and can only be synced with an ipod

Nope, they apply DRM-Protection to it.
Edit:
| Quote: | | The iTunes Store, run by Apple Inc., allows users to purchase a track online for $.99 US. The tracks purchased use Apple's FairPlay DRM system. Apple later launched iTunes Plus, which offered higher quality DRM-free tracks for a higher price. On October 17, 2007, iTunes Plus became available at the usual $.99 price, replacing the non-Plus tracks.[14] On January 6, 2009 Apple announced at its Macworld Expo keynote that iTunes music would be available completely DRM free by the end of the month. Videos sold and rented through iTunes, as well as mobile software sold through the iTunes App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch, continue to use Apple's FairPlay DRM to in inhibit casual copying. |

Actually iTunes changed and now almost all of the music they offer is DRM free.
