Guys can you tell me how to port forward in utorrent 1.8.2 i have a DLink 604 router. Can you guys tell me how? BTw I followed the instructions on portforward.com but I stil can't get it to work, and the connection is always close when i check it. Sad

need asap.

Maybe your ISP blocks incoming ports in certain ranges, that being one of them?

You sure your "modem" isn't actually a router/modem? If so you need to forward the port from it too.

for example:
router/modem is 192.168.0.1
router is 192.168.1.1
computer with utorrent is 192.168.1.100

you're trying to forward port 55535

in router/modem (192.168.0.1) forward port 55535 to 192.168.1.1
in modem (192.168.1.1) forward port 55535 to computer (192.168.1.100)

Find out what the possible router/modem is as well as what it's default local IP address is then look it up on google or something. I've already told you the basics or what you need to do.

What do you mean about the 2 router IPs >_> i'm confused, i'm not good that port forwarding.

BTW, what do you mean by static ip address??

Use: Portforward.com and find your router.
- Then find the application you want port forward (in this case, it's uTorrent).
- Go to your routers IP (It can be 192.168.0.1/192.168.1.1 *Depends on your configuration*).
- Go to the port forwarding section on the page
- Follow the instructions listed on portforward.com
- Enter the same port you entered in the router page on the uTorrent settings
- Finally, restart your router so that the settings take place. *Usually happens automatically* (OR you have a save setting on the router settings page)

EDIT: Follow my steps exactly to ensure you get it working.
The last step may the best one to fix your problem.

EDIT No 2: IS your firewall off?

if your "modem" has more than one ethernet slot then it is a router. If so depending on the settings in your router you might need to open certain ports.

You will need to start with a static IP address and it's already assigned to you by your router.

To help you get started, head over to command prompt and type in ipconfig /all

Next you will see a bunch of numbers.
Look for your assigned IP address, DNS, and so on.

And all you need to do is type that into your network adapter and viola, static IP.
