alright so I'm wanting to purchase another computer. This time I'm looking for something cheap (not built cheap but rather in price range) I'm looking for something from $500-$600 ($670 is too much)

If any of you can find something or have already found something on tiger direct or new egg etc.

all that I ask is that it has to be able to ship to Canada

Core 2 Quad only 489.00$ USD. Just use the spare money for a new graphics card. =)

yea that looks awesome but people are giving it low reviews, but if I can't find anything else I'll purchase that. Also, what do you think of this?

The iBuyPower model suggested by grimripper is far faster than the Gateway DX4720, even with the reviews. Newegg customers are enthusiasts-they demand more than low-end 8400GS graphics. Of course, the Gateway is stuck with even slower integrated graphics and a CPU half the processing cores. By comparison, the larger hard drive in the Gateway is its only advantage to the iBuyPower model.

Its getting low reviews because its a badly made pc. But its perfect for a barebone pc, so just upgrade the PSU and Graphics and its great.

Also dont buy one with Pentium dual core

The first one also comes with a 8400gs. which is not a bad card really, and also means it will fit most other cards, wheras the pdc one is using intergraterd

ITT: fail

Antec 300 ($64)

E7400 ($140)

GA-EP45-UD3L ($114)

2x2GB G.Skill RAM ($52)
or
2x2GB OCZ Reaper RAM ($48 after rebate)
Second one is superior if you trust rebates.

Corsair 450W ($69 after rebate)

640GB WD HDD ($80)
Why are the 320GB drives w/ 8MB cache, 500GB drives w/ 32MB cache and 640GB drives w/ 16MB cache all the same price?

HD4830 ($97 after rebate)

Generic DVD burner ($24)

$636 after rebates.

EDIT: Shit, forgot an optical drive.

Thats a pretty weak pc.

I'd go with quad core and a 4850/4870

Be my guest if you'd like to come up with something better for ~$600CAD without getting only two decent parts and 6 other parts that are total shit.
