|

I heard from a teacher that some schools are closing here in Japan because of the H1N1 thing, is anything happening in the states? I'm moving back to the states this summer and was wondering if it's a big deal there (east coast).

I don't think there were enough cases for schools to close,
but i can't know much about it since i'm livin' in France.
But since it's from the Mexicans, i think you're far enough.

There are a few slaps, but not many. There have been only a couple deaths so I don't think you have to worry about it here.

No, Swine flu did not such down my school when i had it. Also i did not attend school while i had it, but still. Its not causing a lot of deaths here in the united states either.
Mostly its only low class people who are very young, or very old, who die.

They stopped shutting down schools for H1N1 a week ago or they urged not to because it's no longer a threat when found at an early stage.

Swine flu is no different from any other flu. Are you afraid of the flu? No. Are you afraid of the swine flu? Yup! Doesn't make sense. Anyway, the middle east hasn't had any outbreaks of the SF, I don't worry at all. In fact, normal flu isn't even that big here. But even in the US, I wouldn't loose a minute of sleep over it.
This is why everyone is so terrified, because of the 1918 flu pandemic:

Originally, they thought H1 would turn into that.
You should read that article, it's interesting.

Well I live in Jersey City,NJ and the schools are closed in Jersey City,NJ. Its
only about 4 miles to Union City, and my mom works there so its a health
concern.

Well its bad if its Widespread and clustered in well populated areas because
the Swine can be pasted on easily. (Like CA, NJ, NY, AZ, and TX.)

That's the scary bit. The flu is extremely contagious.

| I heard there have been way too many cases in New York, so Bloomberg is possibly closing down all the schools for the week. Not sure.
