What is LOTW?
Logo of the week (LOTW) is a weekly contest derived from SOTW. In it you are set a brief for an imaginary company and have one week to design a working logo for it. At the end of the week a winner will be selected and announced. As well as a bit of fun the work you create will be useful for your portfolio if you are going into Art-related courses or the Graphic design industry, whether it be full time, part time or work experience. Consider the brief carefully.

Rules
- The work must be vector based.
- No pre-made logos are allowed, we will check.
- No ripping or use of copyrighted materials.
- Logos must be presented in .png format and with transparent background (illustrator > file > export > .png)
- You are allowed to make one post here. One submission allowed only.
- Embed your submission with [IMG] tags.
- Logo must be able to be scaled, to show this you must post the logo in two sizes, one larger and one small, but not too large (don't break the page).

Brief:
You are asked to produce a logo for a fizzy sweets company named Fizzy Kicks. This company is looking for an exciting logo which will attract kids and teenagers to their sweets. It will be on packaging which varies largely in sizes (from boxes to wrappers) so it MUST scale well. The company produces popular fizzy sweets like cola bottles but also new brands like sour sherbet sticks and tingly tentacles. The sweets will be sold in sweet shops throughout the U.S.A and U.K.

You have one week to create a logo for the company, work on focusing in on the main points described above. Good Luck!

Just to put it out there because I've done quite a bit of research, over the years, into the marketing aspects of corporate images (logos) and I was wondering if we will also be judged on the marketability of the logo. The design could be brilliant but it would be worthless if it wasn't easily recognized and easily related back to the attached corporation. There are also certain aspects that would come into play in real world situations. The McDonalds logo, for example, incorporates certain colours to make the viewer feel more hungry, particularly for McDonalds products. Certain colours and shapes can produce this effect, would we be graded pertaining to this?

Kai. I do feel like helping with judging this though. Not to seem arrogant but I have done quite a bit of work in corporate and commercial design and have a fairly good understanding of what makes a good corporate image.
