There was a series of news article once about a wife who was on life support and the husband got the rights whether to let her live or die.
The wife's family went to court on this saying he does not have the right to control someone's life, but since the woman is married, the husband has the full authority and in the end decided to pull the plug on life support.

if someone wants to kill themselves they can do it, but people should not do it to another unless there is no chance of recovery and that person state beforehand that they wished to have their life end in such manner

k, I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the point. People that have emotional problems should be helped, giving them the right to commit suicide is not helping them at all.

Only flaw in that plan is that Euthanasia is not legal in many parts of the world. I remember 2 cases from when it was in the news, The state of Oregon and The Netherlands. Australia was for it for a bit, but their overturned the bill and it is now illegal.

I don't think that it should be cool to help someone kill themselves, I mean mentally ill people are just as they are mentally ill. They are able to be technically "Immune" from any laws they break due to their illness by pleading of insanity or something regarding an unfit state of mind which was not their fault. So that means that they basically can't make decisions as adults or mentally capable humans because they are unable to tell what is right and what is wrong.

i don't think so for mentally ill, because they don't really know what they are saying. but put it this way.

if your farther or mother or somone you loved were in serious pain in a hospital bed, and they was a very slim chance of them living, and they asked you to help them die, would you? i know i fucking would.

assisted suicide should be legal somewhat. i watched a program on assisted sucide once and the person who wanted to die had to go to holland and drink the thing that kills you themselves without any help.

mentally ill or not, if someone wants to take therir own life then so be it. It would be too much to ask 4 someone to do it for them though, i no if i was in extreme pain, slim chance of living u dam straight im gona ride that wave till its end
