prove :
sin3 theta = 3cos^2 theta sin theta - sin^3 theta

and

cos3 theta = cos^3 theta - 3 cos theta sin^2 theta

these equations are correct

some reason these qus' was in my vectors(normal not vec calc)/complex numbers sac

was wondering how the fk would u do that i thought they were maybe related to compound/double angle formulae and maybe pyth ideties?

anyone help guys? i need an answer asap

use x's instead of putting theta all the time, it's a pain in the arse. and they are related to compound and double angle formulas and identities.

first one is:

sin^3x = 3cos^2x-sin^3x
sin3x = sin(2x+x)
= sin2xcosx + cos2xsinx
= 2sinxcos^2x + (cos^2x - sin^2x)sinx
= sinx(2cos^2x + cos^2x - sin^3x
= sinx(3cos^2x - sin^3x)
= 3cos^2x - sin^3x
QED


you can do the other one pretty much the same, since it's just cos3x instead of sin3x. i can't be fucked.
