Ok, I'm going to start submitting job application/s when I turn 16. I have no doubt I'll get a job within the month, so that's pro, but money needs to be put somewhere, and this is where I can't decide what to do with it.

My first paycheck will, without a doubt, go 50/50 on a Retirement Fund and a Savings account. After that, I have many needs/wants that I can't decide what to buy with.

Let's pretend I'm getting $8/hr (Bill millers or Chikfila or Bushes Chicken ftw) and work a 40/hr workweek. 40 * 8 = 320 a week but since I get checks every two weeks I'll get payed in 640, take off taxes (I dunno the rates and shit) but lets say I have about 580 left. Then every paycheck I will put 5% into the retirement fund and 5% into the savings fund, so for spending money I'll have about $550 a month. I want certain things and I can't decide what order to buy them.

Little Plastic Drawers to shove my shit in cause I have no where else to put it in
Brand new computer (Will be roughly $700)
Xbox Elite
Halo 3
Fallout 3
G15 Keyboard (About $110)
RAM for Brand New computer (must be AFTER I get the computer)
My own Mini-Fridge (BITCH DON'T JUDGE ME)
A bookcase
A new TV (Suggestions are welcome!!!)
A cat scratching post
A litterbox that cleans itself (BITCH DON'T JUDGE ME, I R LAZY AND CATS HAVE SMELLY SHIT - Will run at about $90)
A computer desk (BIG and like the TV - SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME)
Music/Video device (Help me decide between Zune, iPod and others, MUST PLAY VIDEOS)
New Video Card for the computer (A 5.9 scored one - must be after Computer but can be before RAM)

Please put these in order of when you think I should get them. Also, for the ones where I asked suggestions, if you have one, could you put a link with it so I can see it myself along with why you suggest it?

Try getting some of those items pre-owned (computer desk, bookcase and other furniture)

Heres my list though

1] A new TV
2] Xbox Elite / games
3] New PC

The rest will not be included. I would also get a killer sound system. Consider getting a home projector instead of a new tv, it can save you alot.

Projectors can be nice, but they get expensive quick and are a major pain in the ass to install properly. A cheap projector is $1000. Then you have to factor in a screen (~200 for a cheap one), cabling(~$50), a mount (~$30-50). You also have to run the cabling through the drywall unless you want it to look like shit. Then you still need a decent sound system, as projectors almost never have speakers, and when they do they're terrible. Then you still have to calibrate it, and you have to have a dark room so plan on spending a few hundred bucks on some thick curtains.

Much easier to just spend $1000 on a cheap 42" LCD, set it on a stand and use it right away. I have a projector in my living room, and an LCD in my bedroom, and honestly the LCD gets 10x more use. The projector is nice for movies or games when I have parties, but other than that I don't really use it, and I have a *really* nice projection setup.

Yes, I will try to get everything pre-owned (well the desk, bookcase and furniture) but I don't want it to look shitty. Like, even if it's sturdy as a rock, if it looks like shit, smd. Wink

Well, everything on there couldn't take more than half a year, I don't like school, so even if I don't like my job, I suppose I can stick with it. Money is money, it's hard to find someone that likes their job, but they handle it. I can man up and handle it, too.

So that's two people that said a TV is nice, but you said Video Card, so that means Computer after TV o.O

Or, I could not be retarded and keep my clothes, because if I needed new clothes, I'm sure I would have mentioned that in the first post, lol.

-----

As for people that said a sound system, I hate loud music. There's a point where I like it to block out everything everyone says, but anything louder is just too much and too annoying, especially with songs that have heavy bass.

I like those in Headphones though, not in sound systems.

Projectors are too much money/hassle. I want to plug something in and start playing. They do have good quality, I'll admit, and they're really good for multiple people doing something in the room or like playing one game, but it's just too much work.
