Well in dark scenes, the movies I burn get very pixelly. I use ConvertXToDvd. Is there a way to prevent this?
Does this happen to anyone else?

Not for me...are the files originally in .avi? I'll steal my sisters PC in a bit and get the program name I use to burn DVDs with. It causes a high load, and takes about an hour to burn..but no problems so far.

No the video quality is perfect on my computer. Also, in all other scenes the quality is good. It's just when there are walls and when it's dark.

that shit's a pain. if convertxtodvd didn't work, then you're probably not going to have much luck. the other things you could try are different media, or a different dvd player. i know for me at home, some movies freeze and pixelate on the main player, but the one in the other one runs smoothly. and just because the movie runs smoothly on your pc, doesn't mean it'll always work well on your tv. i've learned that from experience.
