Well if you wear glasses there they'll usually let you use them and say cover your left then right eye...

Very easy but hurts when they shine the light in your eye for 2 seconds...

Wondering because my classmate said that she had to get a needle in her eye.

Hahah they're lying because the use of a needle in the eye will cut a crd f your eye...

Which will lead to blindness... Unless they're blind...

Wrong, there is actually a VERY VERY small hole in your eye that you can penetrate (if done carefully) without any blindness or injury as result of.

Is that a normal procedure? No way!

I had terrible eyes ever since i was a kid... Two eye surgerys and eye exams every 6 months or less.

Basically, they tell you to read letters with both your eyes, covered up one eye etc etc...

Then they see if you need contacts....

They MAY or MAY NOT check your depth perception.

They will most likely shine a bright light in your eye.

I got my eyes tested. The only painful thing I remember was the eye drops. But that goes away in about 30 seconds. Also, when they dilate your eyes, if you take off those sunglasses they give you it will hurt a lot because of all the light.

Eye exams vary because of so many different variables: your insurance, your eyesight, where you're getting the exam done, etc.

For example, I've never had to take eye drops at an eye exam, but I at every exam the optometrist has done the "air puff" test, which has yet to be mentioned in this thread.

What happened in mine was I sat on a high chair, I had to read writing - large to small -
on a wall a few meters away from me repeatedly, with the optician using different lenses on me.
Then she / he just shines a torch in your eye for 2-3 seconds .__.

When I took mine I had to look into this thingy. They asked me to say which object appeared the farthest. When I was done my test basically said I was blind.

I had one where you stare into some machine and there is a small flickering image and something records how blind you are.
