I'd get it if I had the money.
You should replace the cordless keyboard and mouse with something smoother.

But I guess Logitec still works out in the end.
By the way, why XP?

Vista isn't THAT bad.
(don't flame me on that)
It's just all the 'myths' that are out there about it.

I don't even think you'll ever use 12gb ram. Try halving it and getting a better video card.

Whatever's cheapest is fine.

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119068
A Centurion 5 for a $1500 computer? At the very least get a CM RC-690, perhaps even an Antec 900.

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152102
IIRC, these drives have been unrecoverably failing a fuckton lately. Get something by WD, not this piece of shit.

Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009145
Not terrible, however you'd probably be better off getting this or something. It's a really low priced IPS panel monitor (IPS panel = better viewing angles and truer colors (8-bit as opposed to 6-bit) than TN panels, like the one you chose) that Dell somehow managed to keep at a low 5ms response time. It's quite high quality. Also, apparetly, you can call dell and ask about a discount bringing the total price down considerably, however I'm not sure if they'll still do this.

EVGA 896-P3-1260-AR GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130370
$1530 and only a GTX 260? On that kind of budget you could easily fit a GTX 285, perhaps even an HD4870x2.

KINGWIN ABT-730MM 730W ATX / BTX SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817121045
The fuck's Kingwin? 4 +12v rails? Terrible PSU. Get something by Corsair, OCZ, PCP&C, or, possible, Antec. Do not skimp on your PSU. I'm sure you'll be thanking yourself for not getting a better PSU for $20 more when you find half of your system has fried itself one day.

Logitech Cordless Desktop S520 920-000922 Black USB Cordless Compact Keyboard and Mouse Combo - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126047
You'd probably be better off with a wired keyboard/mouse. Wireless shit looses connection and needs it's batteries replaced too frequently.

OCZ Platinum 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P1333LV12GS - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227401
You will never use 12GB of RAM. Ever. Fuck, I don't care if you have Crysis, COD5, GTA4 and L4D going at once, you're not going to use 12GB of RAM. I doubt you could make yourself even use 6GB of RAM. Yes, I'm aware you want to run a game server of some kind, but 6GB of RAM would be fine. Also, while you're at it, don't be afraid to get 1600MHz RAM, since the i7 920's RAM multiplier is unlocked, contrary to what Intel said before. I suggest this, awesome value after MIR.

MSI X58 Pro LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130221
Might at well take full advantage of your CPU's capability of accepting 1600MHz RAM and get this, since that seems to only accept 1300MHz RAM.

Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 - Retail = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115202
Good.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 for System Builders - OEM = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116515
No, that's a 32 bit OS< it will only recognize about 3.14GB of RAM. Get the 64-bit version of Vista. Also, torrenting it would be just as good since Microsoft won't give you any support if you get an OEM OS. Also leaves you with an extra $100.

ZALMAN CNPS9900LED 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler - Retail =http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118046
This is just as good for a lot less.

Tl;dr, very unbalanced system. Would probably be better off letting someone put one together for you (virtually, not physically).

Enjoy your explosion, and throwing that $1530 out the window.

You really do like throwing money out the window don't you? The archaic OS you chose won't even support more than ~3.5GB of that, not that you'd know the difference because you'll never use all that RAM.

I'm not being a "random person", I'm giving you my opinion. A forum is for exchange of ideas from everyone, not just whoever you want to hear from.

Damn thats just stupid to buy.

As all other say, windows XP 32bit will only see 3,x GB.

Also why don't you just download it instead?

Vista isn't really bad, it's just all the security bullshit that fucks things up. When you factor in Microsoft trying to disguise the fact that you're using an operating system at all and making shit that tech-savvy people need to use frequently so god damn hard to get to, a lot of people choose to skip Vista altogether. Honestly can't wait until the commercial release of windows 7 is out.

I have this monitor and its BUDGET, So it should be very cheap which is its main advantage.

Apart from that my monitor died within a couple weeks and i had to get it replaced, the screen is also a little washed out and compared to the glossy/ultrabrite ones its not very appealing.

I would proabably get it if I had the money but 12gb ram is unusable. I'd cut it.
