Good luck with that one. Cryengine 3 was announced and has console support for the NEXT set of consoles.
Also, according to John Carmack, the 360 is generally the faster machine and is much, much easier to develop on.

The PS4 is not coming out next year, or any time soon.
It took 6 years for the transition from PS2 to PS3
It's probably going to take about 7-8 years to get to the PS4.

Uh, the xbox is a lot fucking cheaper. And live is basically a superior service in almost every way to PSN.
Cables are like five dollars unless you are mentally retarded and like getting your ass reamed.

Which console is more powerful is irrelevant, and they're so different they can't really be compared directly. The fact of the matter is the 360 is far easier to program for, and as such it's resources will be better utilized.
I paid like $50 for a year of live, and I already had an HDMI cable laying around but they're like $5. Not to mention, the 360 comes with a component video cable which will pass HD video just fine, 99.9% as well as an HDMI cable. It still comes out far cheaper than the PS3.
The only thing the PS3 really has going for it is the blu-ray player, but it's a pretty significant plus really. If you're buying a current gen console, you're buying it to hook up to an HDTV(if you bought one to hook up to a standard definition TV, just kill yourself now), and as such you'd benefit from having the blu-ray player since most people don't have one already.

| The playstation 4 won't be coming out anytime soon, late 2011 at the earliest. Sony consoles typically last 5 years before being replaced by a new model. It will be a few more years before they even break even from the PS3, they certainly don't have the money to spend anytime soon on R&D for another potentially failed system.

Oh damn, OnLive could totally screw all the systems. What I want to know, is how come Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft don't team up?! They all have amazing strengths and together they could overcome each others weaknesses. With Sony's graphics, Xbox LIVE's online capabilities, and Nintendo's playability and motion sensing, they could create a console so many years into the future.
