| Three men rent a room for $30. They decide to pay 10 dollars each (so it's even). They go up to their room and the bellboy comes up notifying them that they had paid too much (by $5) and he was delivering the excess cash. So they said "well 5 bucks doesn't go well with 3 people so we shall each take a dollar and give you 2 for giving us the excess." Fair enough. So they each got a dollar back. This means they all paid $9 correct? 9 times 3 (for the three guys) equals $27. The bellboy was given 2 as a tip. Now tell me...does 27+2=29? In fact it does. Where did the other dollar go?

If they each paid 10$(*3=30$ total), the room wouldn't've cost 30$.
If they got 5 returned, then the room would've cost 25 dollars. Meaning that each of the men would've payed (25/3=) +-8.33.
With the dollar, they would've each payed +-9.33, and so, +-9.33*3=28, +2=30.
There was no other dollar, dipshit.

Yes.
But then gave $2 as a tip.
(3x9=)27-2=25.
They only payed $25.
As $5 Of the Pay was 'excess cash'.
That was never included.

No. They each payed 9+(1/3) dollars.
Unless you are saying 8*3=25.
