It has not been working for the past 5 months and I have tried everything I can think of including reinstalling it and running everything-scans.

I click it and then it has the loading icon for like seconds and then nothing at all. No errors no nothing. _________________

It is the offcial windows tool you are talking about or a third party recovery manager?

Have you recently had a virus or spyware? Certain viruses can disable system restore.

Try registry booster. I couldn't system restore either but it fixed it for me. _________________

When I had a virus it didn't let me restore. I think you should just put most of your shit on a flashdrive, and reformat your computer. It's what I did before. _________________
