XP SP2:
No idea why, but a long time ago, my welcome screen automatically changed into the classic login screen, and will not change back, even with welcome screen checked. I forgot what I might have done.
Any ideas to fix it?

That was so fucking descriptive I couldn't contain creaming my pants from the fucking glory.
Control Panel> User Accounts> "Configure how a user logs in and out"> Enable 'Welcome Screen'.

Thats the point.
Control panel won't even change it back.
It is selected to WELCOME SCREEN after USER ACCOUNTS and other shit. Don't treat me like a dumbass.

maybe the effects are turned off?
System Properties>Advanced>(Under Performance)>Settings
or remove netware adapters if you got any.

Still having problems after even replacing logonui.exe
And I would try getting windows xp sp3, but microsoft's download server is down or something.

Software associated with any Linksys adapters will sometimes change the Welcome login to the classical style.
If that is the case, you will have to dig deep into the registry to modify it.
I wrote it down somewhere, but I forgot where I put it.
