I was thinking of getting a pny 9400 gt to build with this motherboard.

Since the gpu is pci e2, will there be any problem with my motherboard?

How much performance will be reduce and will the BIOS be able to recognize it without flashing a new bios?

It is extremely unlikely that you will encounter any problems with PCIe 2.0 to PCIe 1.x. No BIOS update is needed.

The kind of bandwidth that the PCIe 1.0 slot provides is far, far, far more than enough. Most mainstream video cards (high-end G92 cores and below) have difficulty using up the full PCIe 1.0 x16 standards-PCIe 2.0 x16 doubles that bandwidth.
