So i was checking behind my computer and i see thats theres like 3 outputs.the one i am currently using is DVI but theres also hdmi and s-video.I was wondering if i had plugged lets say a hdmi chord into another monitor would it instantly work on both outputs (dvi/hdmi)? If not can i get like a TUT or something =]

What Video Card do you currently have?
Don't use the S-Video, use DVI and HDMI only...
Once u connect the 2nd cable to a 2nd monitor
RIght click desktop > Properties >

Go through the tabs till u reach The one with a picture of 2 monitor's....
And go through the option's...

my grpahic card is Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT..

so anyways i checked and theres something about ultramon or something that i mihgt need dont know

I'd recommend using Ultramon although it does cost money...

Turn off your comp, plug in the other monitor, turn on your comp, and both monitors should be working. It should also work if you do it with it on, but then you'd have to do installing hardware or something like that.

Shut the comp off, plug in the second monitor via HDMI, restart, go to the nVidia control panel, set the monitor options to "dualview."
