Ok so I got the red ring of death just now while playing xbox360.
How do I repair it?
And a better question for next time....
HOW DO I PREVENT IT?

Wrap your box into 2 towels, and turn it on.
Let it run for 15 minutes, then pull the plug.
Unwrap it from the towels, and let it cool for another 15 minutes.
It is proven to work, but it is only temporary.

Well, the point here is how to fix it, not whether or not they should get a new console.
The RRoD is typically caused by overheating. Wrapping it in towels re-sauters all the chips, which makes it work temporarily. I think that you can buy a new warranty from Microsoft, though I'm not sure if they only offer that as an extension on the original warranty. Good luck.

| Actually, if you have 3/4 a ring of death they fix it for free. But you need to tell them that you have 3/4 instead of 1 whole.
