Okay well, I'm going to be purchasing a new hard drive and was wondering if I buy the hard drive, will my OS disc still work with it as in it being "genuine valid" ? Will it detect it as in being used on another computer or the same?

You won't be able to activate both at once. Luckily, the internet offers solutions, if you were to look in the correct directions.

If you ment as in pirating the OS, then I will, but I'm just wondering will my OS XP professional disc detect my new hard drive as in being used on another computer or the same one? if so, how will it know that I'm using it on a different computer if it detects? All I'm doing is changing the hard drive to a new one. Will it work or do I have to buy another OEM disc? Confused

I think if it goes on the Internet or not, or probably the next time you try to pass WGA validation.

put both hard drives in your computer and then go into bio and choose to boot from the hard drive with your OS on it, then when it starts up you will see the second hard drive in "My Computer" you might need to reformat the hard drive first. you don't need to install a OS on the second hard drive unless your going to use that second hard drive for start up boot.
