Well , I would like to Reformat my old laptop.( IBM Thinkpad)

There is no CD Drive , So i guess ill have to use USB or Floppy Disk.

Another Question is, How can i make it Load From Floppy Disk Or USB.

I would take a look at this. Pretty much will walk you through it. You'll need a USB drive large enough to hold the install disk's contents, of course.

The size of my WINDOWS folder is 4.44 GB, so I don't think you can do it with a 2GB flash drive.

But is it even possible to transfer the installation CD to a usb drive? Seems like they'd be pretty secure about something like that.

To OP: Save yourself the trouble and just buy/borrow one of those CD drives you can plug into laptops.

But external CD-Drives are only $40. I may be an idiot, but that seems like the easier option rather than editing something that isn't meant to be edited, which is probably a risky thing to do since the OP had to ask for help on the topic.

Doesn't look like the method in the link would take more than ten minutes tops. At the very least, worth a try before shelling out the cash.

The flash drive method should work. But you can also hook up a USB cable to another computer that has the contents of the OS CD, and install without a flash drive at all. The flash drive method should be easier to accomplish though.

When you connect a duble side USB - male to 2 pc'z is it considered a network or does the computer see it as another harddrive?
