"Can you launch other applications using VB? And can it launch any file extension? If not, then what can it launch?"
OK, I have a scenario. I have a chunk of files in a folder on my Desktop. If I was to put my finished program in there, would it be able to launch any apps?

take a look at Process.Start and ProcessStartInfo
Dim info As New ProcessStartInfo(filepath)
Dim proc As Process = process.Start(info)
Return proc.Handle ' this ain't necessary.

| If you're not going to take advantage of the simplicity of the commands in VB, why use VB at all? Shell()..
