i am making a build for a friend.
it will be powering a 19 inch crt.
he wants to play most games on max settings with aa at above 20 fps.
the budget is $600, and he will be overclocking.

I think you're skimping a bit on the motherboard, and you can take a bit from the RAM. Other than that, the build's pretty solid, although you'll need to buy an optical drive.

Were you going to use the stock CPU cooler? You can get an alright heatsink/fan for around 35 bucks. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that case, I'm sure you can get a better one for $75. I've had a number of bad experiences buying Rosewill, to the point of now going out of my way to avoid them. Oh, and peripheral drives? A Lite-On or LG 20/22x DVD burner, and any FDD.
