My music video player only supports .avi files.
But i recently downloaded a torrent " The day the earth stood still " and after it finished it was an .avi movie. I tried it on my music player : " invalid format " and then i tried it on windows media player and it had some sounds but the pictures were not there...
Anyone can help me please? & if you know any good sites for .avi movies.

Your music video player can only read a certain codec. Just to make sure you might want to use VLC media player just to check if the movie has video.
I won't say anything about torrents simply because I don't use them and they're illeagal in your case.

I recommend you Install the latest version of VLC Player.
It has a bad GUI but it has all the codecs ull ever need already programmed into it...

| I prefer MPC (k-lite). It might use more system resources, but that's not a problem for most computers now. VLC doesn't even pause at the frame I hit pause at, which is frustrating.

Thanks guys. Do i have to play the movie and make sure it has video? And then what? if it has video and sound, it'll work with my music player?Or do i have to do something with the codec?
Can it also convert other kinds of videos into avi types or do i need to download a video converter? Can anyone suggest one. I tried but they all seem to cost something or don't work.
