Overall, the card outperforms the HD 4870X2 at all resolutions, except 2560x1600 (30" monitors) with full AA. Even then, it should play the game smoothly. The GTX 295's memory seems to be the bottleneck in all instances where the HD 4870X2 ousts the GTX 295. The GTX 260-280 cross doesn't really perform as well as a more "native" dual-GTX-280-on-one-card should perform. 2GB of VRAM and a full 512-bit RAM bus would have improved performance. NVIDIA could have done better, maybe a GTX model between the 295 and the next generation GTX 300 core. Still, the card is a solid performer, even without driver optimizations and a using an NVIDIA reference card, and I'm sure it'll set 3DMark records, and give NVIDIA a solid chunk of the high-end graphics market.

Get this if: Computer enthusiasts (record-breakers, OC'ers), aren't running a 30" monitor

Amps on the 12v rail: 24A (289W / 12v); you'll want 2x 20A or a single rail outputting roughly 40A

PSU recommendation: Corsair 650TX, although it depends on your specific system specifications.

so in your opinion would you get this or the 4870X2?

Probably gonna get this card in my next computer
