Okay all when I start my computer, it will show the gateway loading screen and the it will go on to this window asking if I want to go into safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, or start windows normally. And no matter what I do I can't get my laptop to boot to the log in screen! Can I fix this withot having to reboot and delete all my files? PLEASE REPLY

some system file probably got hosed.

go find a windows disc, and do a repair install.

You have to put your windows CD into the drive, restart the computer, and do a repair install. Unless of course you ripped your windows, then you're screwed.

Here is another option

If you have a desktop...

1. Create a system restore point.
2. Update your antivirus software
3. Remove your notebook hard drive and plug it to your desktop.
4. Let your desktop recognize your drive, but do not open it!
5. Run a virus/spyware scan.

If you laptop drive is SATA then the SATA connectors on a desktop will plug right it.

If it's IDE then you'll need to get an 2.5" IDE to 3.5" IDE adapter converter.
