hey guys this is really REALLY pisging me off. I have been using dev-c++ for a longggggggg time and i really want to try msvc++. I installed it not too long ago today, registered and got the program open and everything........but everytime i try to create a project it says "Project Creation Failed"

please help me! and it its somehting stupid and obvious please dont flame Surprised :'(

picture attached (use snipping tool that comes with vista[quite handy])

EDIT: THANKS A LOT TO killer1478 FOR HELPING ME FIX THIS..I CAN FINALLY USE MSVC++ AND NOT HAVE TO DO ALL THOSE STUPID cin.get();'s and things Smile (yay updated compiler too:))

my project file? i just left everything as default......C:\Users\Travis\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Project1..........is what it says

File -> New -> New Project (CTRL + SHIFT + N)
Then click WIN32 Console application and press ok.
On the next screen, click next and tick [ ]Empty Project.
Then click finish

Ok Here Is A Quick Fix Download SubInACLtool and install it

then make a note pad and past put this code in it

cd /d "%programfiles%\Windows Resource Kits\Tools"
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f
subinacl /subdirectories %windir%\*.* /grant=administrators=f /grant=system=f


save the notepadd as fix_registry_errors.cmd
-Run it- it will take about 7 mins

now aftr restart ur pc ull notice some sound errors n crap if u use vista to fix the sound errors do this

>>Right click "Computer"
>>Click "Manage"
>>Under the "System Tools" section, Double click "Local Users and Groups"
>>Click "Groups"
>>Right click "Administrators"
>>Click "Add to group..."
>>Click "Add"
>>Click "Advanced"
>>Click "Find Now"
>>Double click "Local Service"
>>Click "Ok"
>>Repeat to add "Network Service"
>>Click "OK"
>>"NT Authority\Local Service" and "NT Authority\Network Service" should show up in the list now
>>Click "OK"
>>Close Computer Management and reboot.

If its XP right click on my computer or whatever and hit properties.

that should do it any problems pm me mabey o.O

i guess can't read -_-...........no worries

and to the other guy.

thanks ill look into wat ur said i havnt really read it all yet and hopefully i can trust wat u gave me and it doesnt mess anything up Surprised .........

but if it does work then ill deffinately +rep u considering i need to get it to work

it works i always hav this error in vista when i gota re-install it then redownload vb8 and it will always give me a project making error same with C# and c++ it works 100%

k so i ran the program and no its highlighted in red saying Done: 73000 Modified: 74000.........and those numbers keep going up and stuff......when do i stop it? or close it or w/e?

btw if thise all works ur like my ultimate hero haha and obviously ull get a +rep

EDIT: ahh sorry nvm......i was just being impatient its doing more shit now........thanks again......how do u know when its completely done?

p.s. if i get it to work i can finally stop having to write cin.get(); and gat.char(); or w/e after every code lol Smile

Uhh... I don't think doing so would automatically make the console pause to show results... It does what the program is told to, so you still would. =D
