You can play a guitar easily without even knowing any notes.
(Playing a song based only on what you hear...)

You don't NEED any lessons, but you could get some if you
wanna learn notes and stuff.

easy. its called listening. the only thing you may ever NEED help with is tuning a guitar. once you know if one is in tune and how to tune it, you can just listen to a song a few times. its not brain surgery.

well, definitely learn to tune one. there's tons of ebooks and videos and stuff out there. if you seriously want lessons, go to youtube.com and look around. i'm sure you'll find something there. you'll catch on Very Happy

Start with a classic guitar. After a few months you should be able to get a nice steel stringed one. I play guitar myself for 8 months, and now have a nice black steel stringed guitar

Playing the guitar takes time, practice, and dedication. It's not something you can just pick up and start playing.

It's worth learning, though, if you really want to play.

If you're serious about starting to play the guitar, then I recommend getting an accoustic without too much action (the space between the string and fretboard).

with a strat

If you don't enjoy it, you won't be playing it for long. Make sure you actually want to play the guitar of else you'll just give up within a month.

If you are determined to play it and know you will keep doing it, i would get lessons and seriously consider keeping that as a hobby.
And electric guitars are better than acoustic imo
