| so we are learning about gerund in english class, and we got an excercise: to complete sentences with gerunds. one of the sentences started with "He likes..." so i completed it as "He likes not being famous". my english teacher told me that this is gramatically incorrect because the next word after the "he likes" must be a gerund, and it cannot be "not". she said that i need to write "He doesnt like being famous" instead. now im asking cef, who is the retard here.

If you use NOT, the sentence changes. You still are the retard

You, Although I don't think you are just answering your question. A gerund ends in ing most of the time so if you want the sentence to end in one the word after the verb or at least in the sentence must be a gerund. He likes eating out the math teacher....
