i suspect i have a tun of viruses on my PC and need a good anti-virus that is Free. i have Tried Kaspersky, it has just made things worse so i had to restore my PC back to before i installed it which again has made things worse. just recommend something that wont f**k my PC up even more. my last option is Reformatting it or Giving it to this guy i know who built my computer. _________________

If you just want to scan for viruses,
use Superanti spyware.
Otherwise, Avast is the best _________________

If you didn't like KAV/KIS then the only other reccomendation I have is ESET NOD32.
Use HijackThis to scan for malware entries. Go to http://hijackthis.de to analyze your logfile. _________________

just remember, an anti virus is useless if the user has no idea... if you suspectedly have a ton of viruses, why not just reformat and start fresh? i don't know how that can be a last resort, i managed to format and get everything i need on my computer the other day in less than a few hours. _________________

I agree. People should see antivirus/internet security as a way to stop viruses from infecting your computer and NOT as a way to save an OS installation (although that may also be the case sometimes). |

Use kaspersky. It isn't free but if u can find a key from certain places it is worth it. _________________

Avast and avira are 2 of the best antivirus programs out there.
Sorry to say but kaspersky is bad, or atleast not good.
I've read ALOT test about them and it gets about 4/10.
Both avast and avira got free versions that is really good, I use avira on all
computers I build and sell because it needs really little sources and is really good.
